Spec2000 – Boeing and other leaders in the aviation & aerospace industries have ratified a new 64Kb RFID tag specifically designed for the capture of vital information for work-in-process, parts tracking, and reducing the costs associated with in-service maintenance, repair & overhaul. There will be almost 1,500 parts with RFID tags on the new Boeing Dreamliner 787, made up of parts from almost 50 major suppliers from around the world on this one aircraft alone. Based on the 40-year old data standard called Spec2000, RFIdirector is the only middleware solution to-date that is able to support this data format and others. Spec2000 will also be used in the military.
